This rock cut is on the south side of Hwy. 90 on the east side of Lozier Canyon. This area has produced some nice alterna. I have also found TransPecos ratsnakes and blacktail rattlesnakes on these cuts.
The rock cuts are crumbly and quite treacherous to climb. I have spent fifteen minutes or more climbing ten or twelve feet to get a snake crawling on these cuts. Once I climbed up twelve feet or so after an adult light phase blairs. When I got to about where I figured the snake would be, I went to turn on my flashlight, but the end of the flashlight fell off and dropped to the ground, leaving me stranded. The climb down was harder than the climb up, and I did not get the snake.
