Comstock is located on highway 90 at the intersection of hwy. 163 ( Juno Rd.) It is about 28 miles west of Del Rio.
The population has been shrinking in recent years due to the failing wool and mohair industry and the low water levels in Amistad Reservoir and particularly the Pecos River, which is about 14 miles west of Comstock. I am told that the current population is around 150.
There are currently one motel, one gas station and two small restaurants.
Seminole Canyon State Park is located about 12 miles west of Comstock. It has some camping areas and showers. The Indian petroglyphs are interesting.
