This view is looking south on hwy. 277 toward Buffalo Creek. The rock cuts on the distant left are on the south side of Buffalo Creek. The high visible part of this cut is about 40-45 feet high.
In this area the road has shoulders and is mostly wide two or three lane. The rock cuts are mostly on the east side of the road in this area. This is a good area for Trans-Pecos ratsnakes. Baird's ratsnakes and alterna are also found in the area. The copperheads seem to become much rarer south of Buffalo Creek.
